<p>Happy New Year! January 1st comes every year and somehow I still get surprised of just how fast the time flew by! 2017 was a year of many changes, learning, and growth for our family! Adi had many firsts, including first steps and growing from infant to toddler. Coen started his first year at school, joined his first soccer team, and has done a lot of maturing. I completed my first year as a SAHM and re-lauched Nat in Love a few months ago. Whit has grown at his role at church and will be ordained this Sunday. We have had some fun and happy times with lots of snuggles and tickles, and also some challenging and heartbreaking ones as well. All in all, I close 2017 with Ebenezer because <span class="highlight seafoam">"Thus far the Lord has helped us." 1 Samuel 7:12.</span></p>

<p>As we start this new year, I am excited for what's to come. Last year brought me closer to God and my family, so I'm ready for whatever comes next! While I don't make official New Year resolutions, here are some things that I started working on this past year that I still want to get better at!</p>

<h3 class="post-sub-title txt-left">Choose Love over Anger</h3>
<p>This is often a daily battle for me, especially with toddlers! You can read my "<a href="http://www.natinlove.com/2017/10/choose-love.html" target="_blank">Choose Love</a>" and "<a href="http://www.natinlove.com/2017/10/be-slow-to-anger.html" target="_blank">Slow to Anger</a>" posts as I shared some of my struggle with this.</p>

<h3 class="post-sub-title txt-left">Choose Boldness + Faith over Fear</h3>
<p>I haven't shared much about this just yet, but I plan to this year since it's something that I've lived with my entire life. Fear has entrapped me at times and I'm finally learning to overcome it, one step at a time.</p>

<h3 class="post-sub-title txt-left">Choose Joy + Thankfulness over Worry</h3>
<p>I'm easily worried, but God continues to renew my mind and soul to find my joy and thankfulness in Him. I plan on sharing more about this since it's been such a struggle; in the meantime, you can read my "<a href="http://www.natinlove.com/2017/11/thankfulness.html" target="_blank">Thankfulness</a>" and "<a href="http://www.natinlove.com/2017/12/monday-blues.html" target="_blank">Monday Blues</a>" posts!</p>

<p>As you can see, I have a lot of work to do, but the best part is that the battle has already been won. The more I draw near and rely on God, the easier it will be to choose Love, Boldness, Faith, Joy, and Thankfulness!</p>

<p>Hi Everyone! Happy New Year! I hope you had a great Christmas and New Years! I was able to take some time off work (yay!) so I got to enjoy being home with my boys. Loved it!</p>

<p>For Christmas, we had a quiet Christmas at home this year. I missed my family, it didn't feel quite like Christmas without them, but we got to start some new traditions with our little man, <a href="http://www.natinlove.com/2013/08/meet-coen.html" title="Meet Coen">Coen</a>. I grew up doing Christmas on the 24th, which is the tradition in Honduras. We would go to church for Christmas Eve service, visit my dad's family, and then meet up with my mom's family for dinner, fireworks, and then gifts at midnight. The Mr. grew up with celebrating it on the 25th as is accustomed in the US. They would get up early to open gifts and do breakfast, and later on that day or so they would go see their extended family. Since we grew up with different traditions and we both wanted to share them with Coen, we decided to blend them! So this year we decided to cook a nice dinner at home (and we're not the cooking kind! Ha.) and do some of the gifts on Christmas Eve, as I'm used to. Then we did breakfast and more gifts on Christmas Day morning, like the Mr. is used to. It was fun seeing Coen enjoy all of it, even if he's not really old enough to know what's going on!</p>

<p>For New Years, we went over to a friend's house and we all took our babies with us (and somewhere for them to sleep in!). Yes, it makes me feel old just even saying it! Haha. We sure had fun though. Lots of food and even more laughter! A great way to welcome the new year!</p>

<p>¡Hola a todos! ¡Feliz Año Nuevo! Espero que hayas tenido una buena Navidad y un buen Año Nuevo! Yo tuve la oportunidad de tomar algún tiempo fuera del trabajo (¡yey!), así que pude disfrutar estar en casa con mis muchachos. ¡Me encantó! :)</p>

<p>Para Navidad, tuvimos un tiempo tranquilo en casa este año. Extrañe a mi familia, Navidad no fue lo mismo sin ellos, pero pudimos empezar nuevas tradiciones con nuestro pequeño, <a href="http://www.natinlove.com/2013/08/meet-coen.html" title="Conozcan a Coen">Coen</a>. Yo crecí celebrando la Navidad en el 24, como es tradición en Honduras. Íbamos a la iglesia para la reunión de Nochebuena, visitábamos a la familia de mi papi, y luego nos reuníamos con la familia de mi mami para cenar, tirar cohetes, y después abrir regalos a la medianoche. El Mr. creció celebrando en el día 25, como es acostumbrado en los EE.UU.. Se levantaban temprano para abrir regalos y desayunar en casa, y más tarde iban a visitar a otros familiares. Dado que crecimos con diferentes tradiciones y ambos queríamos compartirlas con Coen, ¡decidimos combinarlas! Así que este año decidimos cocinar una cena rica en casa (¡y eso que no somos la clase que cocina mucho! Jaja.) y abrimos algunos de los regalos en Nochebuena, como yo estoy acostumbrada. Luego hicimos desayuno en casa y abrimos más regalos en la mañana del 25, como el Mr. está acostumbrado. Fue divertido ver a Coen disfrutarlo todo, ¡aunque en realidad todavía está muy pequeño para saber lo que está pasando! Jaja.</p>

<p>Para Año Nuevo, fuimos a la casa de unos amigos y todos llevamos a nuestros hijos con nosotros (¡y un lugar para donde ellos pudieran dormir!). Sí, ¡me siento vieja simplemente diciéndolo! Jaja. ¡Pero la pasamos muy bien! ¡Hubo mucha comida y mucho más risas! ¡Fue una gran manera de dar la bienvenida al año nuevo!</p>

<p>As 2012 comes to an end, I wanted to say thanks for visiting and supporting <span class="highlight seafoam">Nat in Love</span>! I can't believe it's already been 6+ months since I began this new adventure! I'm really thankful for everyone who has visited and for all of your comments too! As 2013 rings in soon, I'm excited and expectant of what's to come this year! Fashion never sleeps and neither will the Mr. and I in 4 months, as our baby boy arrives! Haha. It will definitely be an interesting but exciting year! I hope you come and join me for the ride!</p>

    <p>A medida 2012 llega a su fin, ¡quiero darle las gracias por visitar y apoyar a <span class="highlight seafoam">Nat in Love</span>! ¡No puedo creer que ya hayan pasado más de 6 meses desde que comencé esta nueva aventura! ¡Estoy muy agradecida por todos los que han visitado el blog y por todos sus comentarios también! Como el 2013 está pronto por llegar, ¡estoy emocionada y expectante de lo que está por venir este año! La moda nunca duerme y tampoco lo hará el Mr. y yo en 4 meses, ¡ya que nuestro bebé llega! Jaja. ¡Definitivamente va a ser un año muy interesante, pero emocionante! ¡Espero que vengan y se unan a mí para el viaje!</p>
